This beautiful village is located 9.5 km away from Fira. References to Megalohori are found in written sources in the mid 17th century.
Every access to the settlement lead to the center of the village where you will find the main square of Potamos with the churches of the Presentation of Virgin Mary and Aghioi Anargiroi .Once there, don’t miss the elaborate steeples of Zoodochos Pigi church! In Megalohori there are many vineyards as well as kánaves (old wineries) left from the time when Santorini had a significant wine production, including exports to Russia.
