One of the most famous and cosmopolitan beaches not only of Santorini but also of the Cyclades, with a length of over 5 klm. Always filled with visitors from all over the world, starting from the cliff and continues up to monolith, with dark coloured sand and magnificent crystal clear waters. The beach is fully organized, with umbrellas and sunbeds all along the shore. Kamari is also awarded the blue flag and offers adequate facilities for water sports (windsurfing, water skiing, pedaloes and others) as well as a scuba diving center!
Above this beautiful beach it raises the imposing mountain of Mesa Vouno, where ancient Thera is built. The long coastal footpath, is closed for all vehicles during summertime but it is full of cafes, restaurants and shops. In the settlement you will find, among others; medical center, hotels shops, super markets, car rentals and travel agencies.
The access to the beach is easy: with a vehicle following the provincial road Fira – Perissa Bay and the provincial road Messaria – Ancient Thera. (two large parking lots are located near the coast). Alternatively, by bus, as Kamari is linked to Fira with regular buses, as with the rest of the island (the bus stops are located close to the beach.)
